Many manufacturers assume that if a product isn’t on the mandatory certification list, a certificate isn’t needed. In practice, voluntary certification is often what helps a product enter the market.
In Uzbekistan, products are assessed in two ways. Mandatory certification covers products that may affect human life, health or the environment. Voluntary certification is undertaken by a manufacturer or supplier on their own initiative. It confirms that a product conforms to a chosen standard: national (O’z DSt), interstate (GOST) or international (ISO, IEC).
How a voluntary certificate benefits your business
Tenders and public procurement. Buyers often ask for proof of quality even when mandatory certification doesn’t apply.
Trust from retail chains and distributors. Large retailers and wholesale buyers prefer products verified by an independent body.
Competitive advantage. A certificate shows customers that quality has been verified, which helps your product stand out.
Export readiness. Testing against international standards gives manufacturers objective data on their products before entering foreign markets.
Internal quality control. Laboratory testing reveals a product’s weak points early on.
Getting voluntary certification with SQA Group
The SQA Group certification body is accredited by O’ZAKK to O’z DSt ISO/IEC 17065:2015 (accreditation certificate O’ZAKK.MS.0052). Testing is carried out in our two in-house laboratories accredited to O’z DSt ISO/IEC 17025:2019: SQA (O’ZAKK.SL.0162) and S-LAB (O’ZAKK.SL.0437).
